Before you can define rolled coil products, you must first set up a product class; your rolled coil products will belong to this product class. 

In general, follow the instructions for setting up a product class as described in Product Class. Setting up a rolled coil product class is nearly identical to setting up any other product with the following qualifications:

  • In Product Category, select Rolled Coil.
    Note: If Rolled Coil is not available, use Environment > General > Product Category to locate the product category the references Product Category Type: Rolled Coil. 
  • Dimension automatically populates with Length.
  • Dimensional Length Unit of Measure - Select ft or mm.
  • Product Type - Select Inventory.  
  • The Inventory unit of measure must be a quantity unit, such as EA (each) or PCS (pieces). For example, you could not use Lbs, Meters, or Boxes.  
  • Generate Inventory Tags - check to enable. 
  • Units per Inventory Tag - Enter a value and unit for how to produce tags for inventory rolled coils.
