Based on your business practices, you may require that an order be confirmed before it may be processed or shipped. The confirmation step is typically used when you require a "stop" within your process to get official validation from the customer or a supervisor that an order is officially OK to process and ship. 

Setup

aSa will work with you to determine whether or not to require orders to be confirmed within your business' work flow. If you do require confirmation, use the following as a guide.

Setup Editor

Activity

Environment > Location Options > Scheduling Tab.

  • Require Order's Scheduling Status to be Confirmed

Check to enable confirmation validations in your system.

Environment > Location > Defaults > Sales Tab.

  • Require Minimum WBS Level

In the dropdown list, select Prior to Scheduling confirmation to require that the order's minimum WBS contains items. If the minimum WBS does not contain items, the order cannot be confirmed.

Note: Only an employee with appropriate permissions may confirm the schedule status.

Scheduling

In the Scheduling grid, select the order. Click Actions > Confirm Schedule

Processing

  • A message prompt displays: "Control codes must be confirmed prior to processing. Confirm control code ...?"
  • Click OK to confirm.

Shipping Ticket

  • A message prompt displays: "Control codes must be confirmed prior to adding to a Shipping Ticket. Confirm control codes?"
  • Click Yes to confirm.

Validation

When you confirm the schedule status for an order, the system validates the following before actually changing the status to confirmed:

  • All shapes within the order must pass shape validation. 
  • The order must contain items at the minimum WBS level based on the Require Minimum WBS Level setting.
