Note: Some fields are enabled or disabled based on the type of product you are entering.

Product Category

Product category refers to a group of products that share the same characteristic fields. Select the category of the product that you want to enter.

Warehouse

Warehouse from which the item is being provided.

Product ID

Identifier for the product, typically shorter than the description.

Product Description

Description or name of the product.

Product Information

The Information icon will only display when using the IM version. It provides detailed available material quantities.

Sales Quantity

Amount of the item being sold.

Sales Unit of Measure

Unit by which the item is sold. For example, you may take off rebar by pieces but sell by hundred-weight.

Direct Ship

Check to indicate that the product ships directly from your supplier to your customer. (Only valid if Direct Ship is permitted for the item based on the product definition.)

Parent Product

If the current product is a sub-product, the associated parent product displays. View-only field. For more information about parent products and sub-products, refer to Understanding Parent Products and Sub-Products.

Long Description

A longer message that displays on business forms, such as the Sales Order form.

Enter the desired message. If desired, highlight your text and use the controls to make text bold or italic, or to create numbered or bulleted lists.

Long Placing Note

Note associated with the item. Notes display on certain reports.

Product Comment

Only applicable to Comment-Detailing products. Short message that displays in the Notes field of the Order Detail report; typically used to continue a note from the previous line. Refer to Comment Items for additional details.

Quantity Available

Quantity of the product currently available in inventory. Display only field.  

Product Image

Select an image to use for the product. The image appears on reports set up to display images. 

To add a product image:

  1. Click Select Image > Browse.
  2. Browse your system, then double click on the image to select it.

Notes: 

  • If the image has already been uploaded to aSa.Studio, click Select Image > Catalog instead.
  • Click Cancel  to remove the image.
