Working with Assemblies
An assembly, also called a kit, is simply a product that is made up of other products. The process of managing assembles spans multiple aSa.Studio modules:
- You must be licensed for Inventory Tracking to use assembly functionality.
- The topics that follow cover screens and tools from multiple aSa.Studio modules, including Product, Inventory Management, Order Entry, and Processing.
Stock Kit
Stock kits are products that are assembled and “put on a shelf” to be supplied as needed. The components of stock kits do not change.
Examples:
- New Employee Starter Kit, consisting of a hard hat, gloves, and an employee handbook.
- Common cage configuration that you pre-build.
BTO Kit
Build To Order (BTO) kits are products that are fabricated based on specific customer or project requirements. Every time you build a BTO kit, it can have different components. It is essentially a product that you create on the fly.
Example: Custom cage configuration built to project specifications.
