Import and Export
Use Import and Export to move data between two non-connected systems.
The typical work flow is:
- A source organization ⎯ such as a separate office, an outside company, an independent detailer, or other business partner ⎯ uses Export to create a file from data in their database.
- The source organization emails the export file to a destination organization.
- The destination organization imports the file. This moves the data from the file into the organization's database.
Import and Export File Formats
Orders are typically exported to RDX (Rebar Data Exchange) format. aSa.Studio, aSa ex, and some third-party software software packages have the ability to export to RDX.
Note: Future versions of aSa.Studio will support importing other types of file formats.
Other types of aSa data, including Jobs, Business Partners, and Products, can also be transferred between non-connected systems. Unlike RDX order files, other data files exported from aSa Studio can only be imported into aSa Studio (not aSa ex).
Jobs, business partners, products and other entities can be imported and exported in the following formats:
- CSV - Comma Separated Value
- TXT - Text file
- XML - Extensible Markup Language
